EK goes back and Sharks next season

Created by: JoeThorntonsBeard
Team: 2023-24 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 29, 2022
Published: Oct. 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If EK65 keeps up this Norris-caliber play, the sharks may be able to move him, as they are not going on a deep playoff run anytime soon and are looking to free cap.

Ottawa is a team looking to finally become a contender and needs some help on the Right side of their D-core. EK goes back to Ottawa on draft day and becomes a top pair guy and also becomes a mentor for Brannstrom and Sanderson

I'd consider an EK trade...but only with 50% retention.

50% is too much, it needs to be 43.478%.

He's got the most points by a D-man in the whole league right now. even if he finishes the year with 60-70 he's easily worth 8-9.5 mil.

Was looking at Winnipeg as a karlsson destination, but Schmidt in the return package, probably need a little retained also, maybe some prospects a pick or two and Schmidt to gain a year and some salary back.

Yeah, and he's an inconsistent injury-prone 32-year-old defenceman with five years left on his contract...no thanks.

I think he’s finally healthy. Seems to be playing with the swagger and confidence he had before the injuries and personal issues became an issue.

I'm going to need more than ten games of evidence until I trade for a $57.5 million contract.

That’s fine. I agree with that sentiment as well. I usually like to use 2-3 years as a trend for how a player is performing.
