Disclaimer: I know it's very unlikely that Kane and Toews will leave Chicago but from what's been reported there's a very good chance at least one of them will leave especially if the Hawks don't make any progress in their rebuild this season.

Rebuild after this year not sign Patrik Kane to a 6 year deal lmao. also you need 21-23 man roster to function. Also not sure if i mentioned but dont sign Kane long term. That goes to any team in the league.

pasta will probs look more like 10,000,000 heading into a quick rebuild krecji and bergeron retiring 100%.
would not sign kane if we want to rebuild and hope for higher picks. and i would def trade studnicka for a high pick.
trade reilly or forbort or both and also trade grezlyck for a 2nd round and propsect D. We have lohrei who is ready to play 3rd pairing i believe.

and we can sign some decent UFA Ds for cheap next year while have a mediocore year

Yeah I'm starting to think at least one of the two will most likely retire after this season. It's a miracle Krejci came back to begin with because we all thought he was done after he left Boston to play in the Czech Republic.

Ya i see krecji coming back he saw an opportunity to play with pastrnak but def would say bergeron retires he took time last summer making a decision. i think he wants to hit 1000 points try for the cup one last time and than hang them up

Yeah that's how I see it too. One last ride before riding off into the sunset.

Some team will resign Kane until he's 38 or even 40. He's an elite playmaker so with his passing skill alone, there's potential that he could still be able to contribute even in those final years for 50+ points even if he becomes super slow. The key would be not to pay him more than 6m-6.5m or so, 7m maximum. If he's still a top producer for the next 3 years and a top 6 player still in the 4th and 5th years, a 7mx7 deal would be worth it even if absolutely drops off in the last 2 years. A team like Buffalo or Anaheim who already has cap space could sign him to a deal like that without being hindered in signing their young players due to the cap rise in the next couple of years.

Boston should sign him for 6mx6 if they can. I imagine Pastrnak will get 10m+ though so they might not be able to make it work. Ullmark could be traded though if Swayman is ready.

You're not getting Pasta for no $8,000,000 per, Rumors are that he's seeking the Panarin deal. Try more like 8 x $12,000,000 maybe slightly less to remain in Boston.

Good luck, No way i see Patrick Kane signing for only $6,000,000 per probably 4-5 years @ $7,500,000 per.

And you can't keep constantly running a 20 man roster, Eventually it will come to bite you.

There has been no indication from either that they’ll retire after this season. They certainly could, and maybe its probable. It’s all just guess work. If bergeron plays at an elite level, why would he retire?

injuries, looking out for his future hes been banged up and had some pretty gruesome injuries and retire with a strong finish.if he wasnt contemplating retiring why not sign a two year deal or 3 year deal.

Then why didn’t he retire this year?
Multi-year deals do not allow for performance bonuses.
