The rumor mill of Josh Manson returning to California have me worried that our Right side will suffer a blow and there aren't many options on the market.

We need to find a good pairing for either Byram or Girard (EJ has played really well with both of them in the past).

My personal ranking:
Josh Manson 30 yo- (if we can get a 4x$4 million deal)
Jan Rutta 31 yo- (doesn't look like TB will have space unless there is a buyout on Myers); (3x$3 million ?)
Sean Walker 27 yo- (LA; 2x$2.65 million) - Coming off injury but LA has a glut of RHD and needs to move someone
John Marino 25 yo - (Pitt; 5x$4.40 million) - Young two-way defender with the Penguins needing to move for cap space
Ilya Lyubushkin 28 yo - (UFA; Toronto) (3x$2 million)
Austin Strand 25 yo - (G6 UFA; LA) (3x$825K)

Losing Manson's grit and toughness is a worry. Lyubushkin is probably his closest comp in that regard but he is more prone to defensive mistakes/costly penalties (think Zadorov).

Yeah Kadri would have been tough, but Nichushkin, Lehkonen, and Manson all came in a little bit higher than expected so we weren't able to get in the 2C market (Copp, Strome, Trocheck) to directly replace him

Dump Girard or put him or EJ on LTIR

---To use off-season LTIR the team must provide doctors proof that the player in question will continue to be injured at the beginning of the regular season for 10 NHL games and 24 calendar days.

EJ is healthy so that is not an option. Girard should be healthy to start the season but haven't seen any further updates since the post-Cup briefings.

By "dumping Girard" I assume you mean trade him? Who then should we play on defense for 18-20 minutes a night?
