CBJ overpaid for grit, and barley any grit at that. At least for Oliver it sounds like he'll be on the team. I doubt they paid a 4th just to send him to the minors, Nashville wins
It's an overpay for sure but with rumours coming out of Columbus regarding acquiring Kassian, I wonder if this trade blocks that kind of move in the future.

Seems like the kinda guy you can sign for league minimum in FA. I wonder what they see in him to give up a 4th?
This is what I was thinking as well. That said, a 4th only turns into a 100-game player about a quarter of the time, while they have a less than 50% chance of playing a single game.

4th rounders have a less than 50% chance of playing a single NHL game and less than 25% chance of playing more than 100. Furthermore, most of the time, these players take 3 or 4 years to reach the NHL.
