This draft met all the CapFriendly requirments. With the resignings and filling out the roster with UFA's VGK will come in at the cap floor. I'm almost positive they will target mostly youth in the Ex draft and use their cap room as trade leverage similar to what Arizona did. Also Ship's salary isnt included in that number. One issue i see with this mock is VGK landing Vatanen for nothing. It could be Silf in that spot. Changing wilson for Cole could be a possibility. But to answer your question, Yes, I think this could work.

Nah it should work. The displayed salary cap is for NEXT season and thus doesn't include expiring contracts. It must meet the salary floor of THIS season, including expiring contracts.

That said, bstbullies, I highly doubt any of Vatanen, Hayes, or Demers will be available. Anaheim will certainly buy out Bieksa if he won't waive his NMC, allowing them to go 4-4-1 safely. All the Rangers have to do is extend one of Lindberg, Fast, Puempel, Pirri, or Glass to be able to protect Hayes. And Florida will definitely extend one of Pysyk or Petrovic, if not both.

Ya I agree with you Snobalt. ANA/NYR/FLA will do manuvering to block those guys. As NSH and PIT will cover Neal/Jarnkrok Fleury/Murray respectivley. There are just so many moves that lie ahead to get a true gauge of who will be availible. I do think that LGK will be coming in at the salary floor and grabbing as many prospects as possible. The only time they will be taking on chunky contracts is if they are compensated to do so. This was created by the Auto protect.

Make sure you leave "Enforce Exposure Requirements" off when you auto protect!

Yup. they will hit floor for sure. Dadonov looks like their next signing putting him on top line with Shipachev. Smart for the Russians to sign short contracts in Vegas. Get big mins and lots of pts for leverage when they go UFA
