Lol no they wont, Petry will be in his mid 30's. His contract is not good. Gio won the Norris at age 35/36 do you think he would have returned a 1st with multiple years at over 6M?

If GMs think he can still be a 40 points defenseman (which he did under Martin St-Louis), i think MTL could get a 1st. And he would be worth his 6.25M then wouldn't he?

Also, MTL could retain salary to increase his value if needed.

Look I just took the idea from actual NAS fans ACGM. Anyway, with the way Petry has been playing in the last 10 games, hes definitely shown that this season was simply due to his family problems and the ****ty team hes playing for

heres the thing about that too, giordano actually won the norris, petry has never even been in the conversation

That's even more to my point. I doubt Gio was getting a 1st with zero retention at that age with 3 years remaining so why would Petry?
