TBL offseason moves trading Serg

Created by: JTBF81
Team: 2022-23 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 26, 2022
Published: Apr. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
While it seems unlikely, Brisebois could consider moving Serg this offseason to ensure Tampa keeps everyone else next offseason. Kulikov helps as a 3LD, and Minnesota could be willing to trade him in order to help make room to keep Fiala. Tampa re-signs Rutta and Paul, while adding Motte(who they team was interested in at the tdl before trading for Paul). Turcotte likely gets a call up at some point next season, and Chromiak the season after. Tampa can change up the trade some as well, depending on the prospects involved.

It would definitely sting to trade Serg, but I think this actually makes a lot of sense for both LA and TB. A really good return value, but I would be left thinking LD would be bare in the prospect pool and in general for the future, especially considering Ryan Mcdonough's longevity and how long he can continue being elite. That means I'd probably target a LD in the first round, but overall I quite like this deal no matter how painful it might be.

I don't think McDonagh is in any danger of falling off a cliff. His play style typically ages well.

Also, Daniil Pylenkov's KHL contract is up. Look for him to possibly sign an ELC before next season. He was impressive for a 20-21 year old on St. Petersburg this season.

Turcotte and the first for Sergachev is good for both teams. LA doesn't need another middle-6 forward, so the rest of the proposed deal is just window-dressing.

Tampa would target likely Chromiak to have a scoring winger ready ro maybe break in the top/middle 6 by '23-'24. I had included Grans but Tampa has 3 RD on the way. Still, Tampa would likely value ready or close to ready prospects over the 20th pick, that, if they're lucky, might be a lm NHLer by '24-'25.

I could see adding Chromiak and dropping the first to a second.

I think it could work, but Tampa likely drops some of the adds in the initial trade. I could see Tampa doing Serg for those 2 players and a 2nd, with Tampa maybe adding a 4th/prospect. Tampa may still value Grans higher amd just try for all 3 prospects for Serg+3rd+a prospect, since Grans fits the dman profile.Tampa usually looks for.

That's what I meant by my last comment (#7) = Turcotte, Chromiak and the second for Sergachev

Sounds good. If Tampa asked for Grans, would the Kings add him for an additional + from Tampa, or swap him for the 2nd if that was an option?
