Once you lose the first year, your ELC clock ticks no matter if you play in the NHL or not.

But playoff games don't count against the ELC clock. So if you play 8 games regular season and then the entire playoffs, you don't burn a year.

Sprong won't be NHL ready until the 2018-2019 season. No way does help this season.
