The end of Galchy and Beaulieu - FINALEMENT

Created by: Statscap
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 23, 2017
Published: Apr. 23, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade 1 - I believe Sakic was seeking something like this in return for Duchene it's time for Montreal to go get that number 1 center if the Second roubd pick is not enough to seal the deal make it a first round pick because we need him

Expansion draft - Plecky is the guy with Beaulieu and Galchy traded to the Avs and with Benn Petry and Weber protected the only 2 options would be Emelin and Plecky.

Trade 2 - Davidson needs to go at 1.4 per year it's too much for the the player if Mtl wants to compete in the playoffs he is not the guy to have on the bottom 2D pairing. We all know the devils need help on the blue line shouldn't be an issue trading him for a 5th

Free agent 1 - Shipachyov at 4.5 is just worth the gamble we need help down the middle he fits in perfect for the 2nd line center role.

Freen agent 2 - Dadonov at 3.8 is another gamble but again with his linemate from the KHL (Shipachyov) also signing with Mtl would create chemistry and comfort within the team. Also the fact that mtl already has a couple russian's on the team which would make it easyer for these 2 players to sign in montreal.

Free agent 3 - Del Zotto at 3 000 000 would be a good pick up he can move the puck and is a better overall player then Beaulieu he could also help on the powerplay.

Free agent 4 - Boyle is I think a longshot but he is such an impactful player on a team and can score some goals he has experience in the playoffs aswell would be a great addition.

*** The big factor of this team is trading cancer players like Beaulieu and Galchy the time has come to move on and in return get a #1 center with a gold medal at the olympics and at the worldcup. Resigning Radulov is crucial along with signing the russian linemates in Shipachyov and Dadonov.

This team is obviously not possible but gives ideas of what it could look like if we would pay a little more to gamble on Dadonov and Shipachyov.

I don't know why, but somehow i thought that giving 38 year old players a 4 year contract is a really bad idea

Trading Davidson just to sign delZotto.? Again as good as Plekanec can be, Las Vegas aren't claiming him and his 6 m contract.

Galchenyuk is no worse than Duchene, no idea why Canadiens hate him, but that trade would be a net loss for Montreal

Also just an observation: everybody is happy to get Boyle signed for 2m and a could of years. Makes me believe he's gone get 3m+ for 4-5 years

I'm pretty sure if a defensemen is coming to Colorado from Montreal it's sergachev or juulsen.

Yeah Duchene to Montreal isn't happening, Unless Sergachev is part of the deal. Sakic already said as much.

Ignore most of the posters above.. anyone who says sergachev has to be in that trade is kidding themselves, that package is unreal what GM would say no!? I always laugh at how people say Vegas will never take plekanec yet duchene is , and here's the truth, barely an upgrade over plekanec. Plekanec is a better two-way player and there production is similarly over the last 3 season.

I can get behind the idea of trading galchenyuk and beaulieu but I think you're giving up too much for Duchene.

I love the idea of bringing in shipachev and dadanov.

Markov will not get more than 2 years.

Other than that I like the logic behind your moves.

The Markov contract was supposed to be 2 years and not for that is my bad I would obviously not sign him for 4 years. I believe Brian Boyle will not happen but finding a 4th line center will not be so difficult so Boyle is does not worry me he can be replaced (Steve Ott did play good in the playoffs good bring him back at lower cost) I also think Sakic would make this trade if mtl would give up the first round pick when Sakic said he needed a defebsemen prospect I am 99% sure Galchy was not included in the trade. Again the overall goal in this would be getting duchene and signing the 2 russians.
