MTL can take on a cap dump but retaining that much for 2 more years is too much. Plus, if we want to trade guys like Petry, Gally and Price, we will have to retain some salary. Considering the fact that a team can only retain on 3 contracts, it wouldnt make much sense to waste one of those 3 retentions on Hoffman.

How about Hoffman for Schultz and a second?

He isn’t the worst. I feel on the right team he will be a thirty goal scorer. With us he will fit nicely if we find a better 3c

Sprong has better underlying numbers than him. I'd rather roll with someone cheaper and younger.

Nice offer for Hoffman, but id rather not retain, we could take on one of kempny, or hagelin though. So just take out retention and add one of the cap dumps

Iorio Is worth more than Hoff. Please do me a favor. Read up on the capitals prospects. Get a feel for who is good and who isn’t. Iorio could easily become a RHD MF. Why would you give him away? No MF is our 2nd best overall Dman imo
