Even in the NHL, 4mil a year for Dennis Wideman seems like a lot to me.

We have plenty of cap space and it is only 1 year.

Maybe I shouldn't say this but as a Flames fan, trust me, you really don't want Wideman. He's gotten so slow so his defense is horrible and his offense (which was his best quality) has pretty disappeared. He'll be lucky to be in the NHL next year

Galy is Not a #1 C now... and not part of Plek.

    Do not like that trade.

    Widemans contract way to much.

There is no trade you like. Galchenyuk may not be a 1C but we are rebuilding (I don't think you quite get that). Getting a young guy who will be a our 1 or 2C for a long time is a good thing. By the time this team is a contender, probably 3-4 years, Giroux will be 32 or 33 and he has been in decline for 3 years in a row. In this trade we also don't lose Ghost like the other trades I have done but we still get the RHD prospect in Juulson and another prospect in Hudon. I think this gives MTL a 1 and 2C they need to win now and helps us with our rebuild.

I like Wideman as a one year stop gap, but i'd try to get the number closer to 3 mil

Also, Mason isn't coming back. After the way this year has played out with the playing time, signing Neuvy, and now playing him the rest of the way, I don't see any reason why he would want to come back. I think the Flyers would want him, but I don't think he does.

    Congratulations! But it's only a one-year deal, because he's 24. I apologize for misleading. The 23-year-old Foo will get a two-year ELC.

The only reason we resigned Neuvy was to expose him in the draft. We needed a goalie under contract so that we didn't have to expose Stolarz. There is no way he is our starter next year and if by some chance he is then I think Hextall made a big mistake.
