As a Wild fan, we are acutely aware of this.

But let’s not forget that every other team passed on him twice, some three times. So that makes me feel a little better.

Yes, but then the Wild traded a 2016 5th for BOS 2015 5th.
Wild selected Kaprizov. Be happy

Pretty sure we can't afford that cap hit with the 15M in dead cap we're going to have.

Here’s another thing

Why did Yzerman bother to only trade up ONE spot? Cause he figured the Wild were looking at Point

As for why the Wild agreed they probably had 2-3 players including Point as good picks at that spot.. essentially thought they got a free pick out of the deal

No guarantees the Wild even select Point. The Leafs have traded away a TON of great picks (Eg. Hamilton, Seguin, Gibson, Rakell, Konecny), but its best not to get hung up on it because your team may have been looking at someone else. You guys got the Kaprizov pick from Boston, take your Ws where you can

Yzermann has a couple of those nice subtle moves that's about the best though
Getting a2&3 that turned into Stephens and Cirelli for a 1 that became BEAUVILLIER was pretty good too. Been unfortunate for Stephens he was on a stacked Tampa Bay team, and got injured,l. He'll be a second line guy by end of the season in Detroit

Crazy that Point was a 3rd rounder and the two 2nd rounders Tampa had in the same draft didn't amount to anything.
