Faska would be a good add for Vancouver, but he's not worth trading down for. Maybe in a different deal.

I've got not issues throwing Faksa into a deal to move up in the 1st Round, but even from my biased perspective I know that's not nearly enough by itself.

If Johnson is available at 9 it's gonna be a significant price to get the Canucks to trade down. From what people are saying it's a pretty significant drop off after 9/10

Yeah, I know the Canucks like the kid. And to be honest, if I'm Vancouver, I'm probably not even entertaining a trade down, but didn't know if there was some glaring team need Dallas could possibly provide a piece or two for in a 1st Round Pick swap.

It's a drop off after 12 IMO

I am quite certain Johnson would be very high on the Canucks draft board, given Bennings history for swinging on upside in round 1.

In order to drop down, Canucks would probably be have to be adding a solid player while also dumping significant cap (eg Eriksson)

Maybe, doesn't really change anything as Dallas is picking at 14

Agreed. Guys like McTavish & Lucius have played their way into that quasi-secondary tier of players after the initial 4-5 go off the board. The drop off prior to Dallas' pick takes us into the Sillinger, Lysell, Ceulemans territory.

I know. I doubt any team would want to trade down from the Top 12

Depending on what happens with Oleksiak this might be workable with the cap. If Dallas signs Oleksiak, they can't even fit an Eriksson buyout into their cap space. If Dallas elects not to sign Oleksiak, they can use the money they'd pay him + the money saved from Faksa to either eat Eriksson's deal for a year or just buy out the remainder of his contract. Let me make an ACGM about this. I'll tag you in it when I'm done so you can give me your thoughts.

A young defensively responsible RD would be their biggest need. I'm not really sure if Dallas has anyone that fits that tho

They certainly don't. Hell, they could desperately use a RD themselves.
