Description

In the CBJ deal I viewed Gardiner and Savard as equals but JVR holds a lot more value than Jenner at this current point, I used the prospect swap to even things out. I believe Nylander for Theodore is fair value.

CBJ trade is interesting....I would hope to get more from Nylander...either picks/prospects with that or a more proven D

maybe Jones+Theodore = Nylander ??

Doubt if the Ducks were are going to lose some of their veteran Dman in the next two years would trade young, cheap, potentially good Theodore. But this really doesn't fix the Leafs defence. You've really only added one Dman.

Jackets say no simply because their NHL RHD depth is garbage if you ship out Savard. It would be Jones-Prout-....no one else. Bjorkstrand's also not going anywhere.

Bjorkstrand will be a good player in the NHL but he's a RW and the Leafs have those in abundance.

Jenner IMO will eventually be a solid third line centre.

David Savard is overrated as a defenseman.

Trading JVR and Gardiner for this package will make the Leafs much worse in the short term.

As for the Nylander / Theodore swap?

NOPE!

The only player (and I mean ONLY) I trade Willie for straight up on the Ducks would be Hampus Lindholm. That's it.
