I think Vancouver should swing their 1st this year along with a combo of Woo/Lind and try to put in a bad contract or something and then trade for Meier/Reinhart etc

I like Schmidt and your trade proposal is more than fair but he really doesn't look to be a fit for the Wild. For a 3rd I'm sure some defense starved team will bite though.

I'm thinking along the lines of if the wild lose dumba in expansion and are looking for a replacement.

Dumba is expendable because Wild have Addison in the AHL and Menell in the KHL so the Wild are more likely to save the cap space and fill from within.

The club has the hammer, so just bridge them both & given all the deadwood they should bridge until all the chum is gone (incl: Loui & Lou & Beagle & Roussel & Holtby &....).

I'm sensing more losses in 2021-22 than in 2021...

Part of the reason why Dumba is expendable is because we have 2 replacements for him in the organization who will be needing to take the next step into the NHL. Addison is in the AHL and Menell went to the KHL this year to prove he belonged in the NHL instead of AHL and he was the top offensive defenseman in the KHL logging over 24 minutes per night. We'd rather keep the draft pick and use the internal options we already have.
