I honestly dont think mika will be a part of the trade based on the fact he has one year left and has a NMC. Unless an extension is in place which i doubt. He build a good team but made wrong decisions when it came to signing contracts
You're right on the NMC, I forgot he had that. I'm sure he wouldn't waive to go to Buffalo at all.
I still don't think Strome and scraps will be considered. At best I imagine it would need to be Strome, Georgiev, Kakko, Lindkvist, several picks, and maybe even Chytil (not sure they need him given Cozens and Mittelstadt, and Strome). But this still puts the Rags in an unnecessary cap hell with Zibanejad, Fox, etc, needing contracts the following year, and with cap raises still being in limbo. I think it's best to just stay as is. I like what the team is building right now. I can't help but feel whatever has gone on in Buffalo somewhat rests on Eichel's shoulders. How many coaches and GMs do you need to fire, before maybe it's just a blank loser mentality in the locker room, that is the captains responsibility? That team has gotten better every year on paper, it's not like none of the GMs have tried at all. I feel bad for Eichel, and maybe a change of scenery would help him, but I don't think it's worth erasing the last 4 years of progress on this gamble, especially given the long term implications.
EDIT: I guess it could help the cap implications to add Buch to the trade. But I'm not sure it's worth getting rid of him.
