It's a 2nd for Bobby Ryan. Wings don't want your garbage.

For more clarity on the Detroit trade. Bobby Ryan fetches either a second or third rounder at the TDL. Roussel & Beagle are cap dumps with another year and would need to be compensated for taking them on. Lind although a decent prospect isn’t expansion exempt so wouldn’t hold too much value.

Why would either Detroit or NJ just say sure we'll take all your crap you need to pawn off?

Idk the devil's deal maybe could be worked out. Johnsson has been super average and has 2 more years on that deal. Detroit says nah.

I'd be shocked if Ryan fetches more than a late 3rd. He's on pace for 38 points (if it was an 82 game season) and he's not very good defensively.

Personally I think he's worth a 4th but the trade here doesn't make much sense since Detroit is taking on 6M in cap dumps.

A ton of different variables this year. Pretty much everyone can afford Ryan’s contract and yeah his pace is 38 pts on a really bad Detroit team (~67 GF) while not exactly having a great center (Vladdy, Rasmussen). It’s also pretty well known that this draft year isn’t like the prior couple or 2022 in terms of strength and that it’s limited viewings for a ton of CHL prospects. We’ve also seen depth guys go for 2-3 round picks in the past. I’m not saying he’s a stud but you also aren’t getting a stud for a 2-3 round pick.
