Actually Rebuilding this Team (28 and under)

Team: 2016-17 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 15, 2016
Published: Dec. 15, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is when the rebuild actually gets the green light. Everyone older the Sutter is expendable because they will be too old for when this team is actually ready to win. (Note: Dorsett is older than Sutter but nobody will trade for his cap hit and thus he stays. Basically the same deal with Eriksson, nobody wants that cap hit for 5 more years. He won't get dealt till his 4th, 5th or 6th year). Now trading the twins was the hard part but I chose St.Louis because they are so close every year and adding 2 50-60 point scorers to their second line could be what pushes them over the edge. Though keeping in mind that this trade would have to happen after the Expansion Draft because St.Louis wouldn't be able to protect them both while protecting all their own players.

2017 Draft - Timothy Liljegren (Canucks don't have the luck to end up picking 1st ovr)

Brock Boeser, Olli Juolevi and Jake Virtanen join the Team in 2017-18. The $15,000,000 of cap space is used in the off-season to re-sign Bo Horvat, Erik Gudbranson, Ben Hutton, Nikita Tryamkin, and Brendan Gaunce.

Edler is not getting you Schenn. Perron is not likely to be traded. St. Louis likes him. Plus, not sure if the Blues are even interested in the Sedins. Hansen will not fetch a first round pick.

There is a premium on D-men and Philly are looking for a D-man plus they get a high 3rd rounder which is basically a 2nd. Perron and Lehtera are there for cap reasons, Blues have traded Perron once before don't know why they wouldn't do it again. Lars Eller fetched 2 2nd rounders, Hansen is miles better and on a very friendly cap hit.

Philly is not looking for a D-man. Too many young prospects on the blue line.
