Dzingel is a good forward to help out the Sens. If Dzingel can rebound with Ottawa, I think they win this trade.
Carolina could have done a much better job with their return though. Dzingel should do a little better when he isnt shadowed by the likes of Aho and Teravainen
Dzingel didn't really contribute much in Canes. Now they get a depth center who brings them cup experience, as well as a winger who could flourish in a talented system like the Canes.
Dzingel's comeback to OTT is also interesting. He was at his best back there.
Paquette is an effective player on good teams and was probably shaken from moving from the best club in hockey to the worst. He certainly could heavily bounce back in Carolina and give them a nice edge at 4C.
Ottawa gets rid of a body, which they needed, and get a player who had some success there. On the other hand, Carolina gets a gritty bottom six player for their playoffs run and a body on the ice named Galchenyuk.

This deal is mainly for Paquette on Carolina's end. It's kind of nice that Carolina could get a guy like him for no draft picks.
Less than 9 years after being drafted, Galchenyuk is on his 6th NHL team.
It’s ok for the Canes, but Ottawa wins this. The Sens move 2 4th liners for a struggling player that played well for them before, and the Canes get a 4C and some cap space to add someone at the deadline while trading away a player that didn’t fit in the organization.
Ottawa wins. Dzingel wasn't having the best time in Carolina but he's currently got double the points as those two.
The good thing for Carolina is that they can dump them on the taxi squad with minimal punishment. Galchenyuk can just straight there and Paquette's buried hit isn't outrageous.
This is what you might call a lose-lose trade. I think OTT wins b/c Dzingel is gonna have an opportunity to move way up in the lineup for the Sens. He could get back to a 20-goal pace, whereas Galchenyuk is pretty much useless.
