Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Halák, Jaroslav
  2. Strome, Ryan
  3. 2018 2nd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Ryan Strome has struggled this year but if utilized correctly, is a impactful top 6 forward with potential. Rumors are out there that Strome is available and that the Nucks are interested.

Markstrom is expendable given Demko. Its a tough pill to swallow given he has shown such promise but offense is sorely needed.

Halak comes back to Vancouver and will likely be a back-up or be bought out. Given that the Nucks are likely giving more immediate value to NYI and also need to take Salary back with Halak, a 2rdf is added by the Isles.
NYI
  1. Hansen, Jannik
  2. Markström, Jacob
Additional Details:
NYI needs a starting goalie with potential that is consistent to be the backstop for the franchise. Hansen fills Stromes spot for NYI and is on a very favorable contract.
2.
VAN
  1. Meier, Timo
  2. Ward, Joel
  3. 2019 3rd round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Timo Meier is an interesting prospect and one that would help the Canucks in there re-tooling bid.

Ward is added to balance out salaries.
SJS
  1. Edler, Alexander
Additional Details:
The SJS need to make a playoff push just like they did last season, the assumption is Thornton and Marleau will resign which gives them likely 1 more shot to make a push. Edler gives the sharks likely the best defense in the west.

Edler - Burns
Vlasic - Martin
Braun - XXXX

Timo is behind a number of forwards (Hertl and Boedker) and hopefully is available.
3.
VAN
  1. 2018 7th round pick (CAR)
CAR
  1. Sbisa, Luca
Additional Details:
Lost to expansion or traded for late picks.

Would not trade Markstrom for Halak, no reason to give up a younger, cheaper goalie with more upside than for an aging-injury prone vet (oh, wait we have one already). I wish we could move Edler, but he won't go anywhere.

We have Demko, we do not need both Marky and him or we will have another Luey and Schnds situation. Max value now versus later.

I'm sorry maybe it's just me but this team and their fans need to give up their hopes of playoffs and trade the twins already while they can. Maximize long term value for the club by trading them, don't just let your two most valuable assets wither away with nothing coming back in return. This club is not destined for a cup or anything close to one in the next 5 years without a rebuild

Your signings/trades aren't bad but this is still not a playoff team
