I’ll take Kovalchuck over Athanasiou, in my opinion. We need Kovalchuk’s right-handed shot on our 2nd unit PP.

I like signing Granlund over Haula though. I’ll take 1-2 years of Granlund @ 1.5M-2.2M per over 1-2 years of 2.2M-3M per of an injury prone Haula. And Granlund plays the right side. Fits well on our 3rd line with McCann/Jankowski/Granlund.

I think Athanasiou is a bad idea. No defense. And I see him as being the guy who would get stuck on Malkin's wing playing lazy and Malking being all P.O. again.

yes to granlund. he is a good fit for somewhere maybe moving around in the top-9...
but a big NO to both AA and Kovy....
AA-second what pharrow said...
Kovy--Geno doesn't need friends. he needs good line mates. if the pens will play fast and tenacious, Geno's line mates must do that. plus I say rusty is the RH shot on PP1 and Kapanen for PP2. he's old and not needed.
