a cap dump, Engvall, and a prospect who can’t crack the lineup and a second round pick does not equal Anderson nor Nutivaara alone, I’d imagine. It’s like when islander fans initially felt they could include Boychuk in a Laine trade, for example

If Johnsson is a cap dump then Anderson is just as much one as he played even less games than Johnsson last season. Anderson just gets the benefit of doubt because he bigger. Nutivaara was also plagued with injuries last season and shouldn't hold much value at 2.7 million annually.

Dude if Johnsson is a cap dump so is Nutivaara. So if Johnsson=Nutivaara, because Johnsson does hold more value between the two but it equals out because the his cap hit is higher, then its Engvall+2nd for Anderson+4th, which is a fair trade.

Engvall=4th and Anderson=3rd, so the leafs are actually overpaying a bit here imo. Andersson had a bad season and had a ton of injuries. I don't think he is worth much more then Johnsson at this point. Really the only reason he would be is because he is an RFA, however his qualifying offer is 2.1 million which could be a bit high after last season.

There's been much talk about AJ. I'll leave this link as to why these two specifically aren't comps.
