Assuming Stutzle/Byfield/Rossi/Perfetti are gone at 9 OA and management is confident enough in Kahkonen/Jones to skip on Askarov, then I'd say so.

Should be. All of the other big C names will be gone at 9, so if he's there, I'd do it

If it went in predictable fashion, I would take Askarov.

No, it's not a lock.

The top 8 isn't really the top 8 anymore, as guys like Sanderson, Askarov, Quinn have found themselves in that conversation. Then you have guys like Jarvis creeping up. If it gets to 9 and Lundell is on the board, but so are one or more of Rossi, Perfetti, Raymond, Holtz, it gets real questionable. While we do need centers, you generally don't draft on current need. If they have Lundell rated as highly as some of the other guys, position could be a deciding factor, but if they have someone else rated higher, they take that guy. And I believe it's entirely likely that someone else rated higher will fall to 9.

Given the Wild are going to have two firsts in next year's draft, is there more sense in pursuing Lundell or another top center in this draft then pursuing Jesper Wallstedt next season? He's in that same tier that Knight and Askarov found themselves, and could be in range of the Penguins' pick if they have another mediocre season.
