So what did we learn

Created by: Kyle_Davidson

Initial Creation Date: Aug. 19, 2020
Published: Aug. 19, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don't know. I guess the blackhawks are 0-1 all time in the playoffs when scratching Nylander?

I think the best takeaway is that JC is not the correct coach moving forward.

You guys discuss.

I find the come back ability of Vegas simply insane. They just kept going. Serious cup contenders/ favorites. Hawks gave it their best shot though.

That’s gonna be a bloodbath. A mix of skill and grit that should make for a very entertaining series if it happens.

Colliton should've challenged the other Tuch goal as well.

Colliton's system is definitely something he used in Europe because it's slow, dull, boring, and ineffective. He loves the dump and chase game but doesn't realize that there are no "chase" forwards on the team.

Strome's version of dump and chase is 1. dump. 2. pretend to forecheck but really coast. 3. Go from D man to D man. 4. Get to the bench, wow that was intense.

Hawks have to find a way to unload Seabrook, I don't care how much it costs, if the hawks pluck one stud out of Europe every season (Panarin, Kempny, Kubalik and potentially Suter), I am perfectly fine with trading away a 1st. Essentially, they're the same value, and if this team is going to contend, it's going to need cap space to sign the right players. This team needs to get faster, for a team that Vegas didn't want to "trade chances" with, they looked very slow most of the series. Hopefully this also changes the awful puck luck they've had.

6 points in 8 games, has played well most of those games. Looked a little invisible in 2 games and had 1 bad game but 5 very solid games.

He's a good player, he's going to be an elite talent for many years. I see a lot of Bergeron in him, he's just going to need time to fill in and grow. So far, he's been the best of the top 3 picks i'd say.

I think Colorado will overmatch them with their speed. Vegas isn't that great, the hawks are just that bad.

Nylander wouldnt have been the difference maker in this game but you can believe that. We were playing a better team and were lucky Crawford stole us a win. Agreed on giving Colliton the boot.

Agree with Strome. Kane also looked pretty ineffective (4 giveaways 0 takeways)...which is great if you are a good player but he didn't look elite. Keith had a rough night tonight as well as Toews being out of position on one goal and not impacting the game much otherwise. Those 3 to me were the difference makers tonight in winning or losing. A great game by either Toews or Kane and a usual game by Keith and this could have been easily won.

The passing of the Hawks is just not clean. Vegas goes stick to stick so smoothly while the Hawks are fumbling passes, poking and just playing way to chippy and not controlled.

Colliton's fine, I think. He made the right move tonight taking out Nylander, he's been rough at best defensively and not scoring, so why have him there. Quenville actually looked ok, threw some nice hits, made some nice plays, but it's his first real game in a while. It's a good learning experience for the young guys, we will be better next year with this group. Edmontons not a bad team and we won the series, that's a good look. Every game excluding the first against Vegas was within a goal, and we had our chances(lots of posts) to win some of those games, didn't get the bounces. This isn't the core's last run. Everyone still looks good, no one's falling off a cliff next year, and the young guys got better. The time off with be helpful getting ready for next season and I think we should all look forward to who's coming in, be it Pius, Quenville, even Gilbert and Kalyunuk(sp) honestly. Now we just have to figure out how to sign some guys.

Disagree. Vegas is big and physical, Colorado may not be able to handle them. Vegas is like Boston, Blues, etc. Those teams win cups.

Colorado has dominated Arizona with their C game. That will be a great WCF matchup.

Yeah, Nylander...8 games played in 0 points...not even a secondary assist. Guy had 6 hits in 8 games, come on....who does he think he is, Patrick Kane? Get involved and use your body

Agreed, but I think Kane and Toews had a pretty good game, both scored a goal, both have streaky line mates.

You are absolutely right though, the passing is atrocious, I've never seen so many guys afraid to skate with the puck sometimes. There's so many instances where they just throw the puck away. There's zero flow to the team, almost like there's no system in place. You go from watching Isles Caps to this game and it's almost like two different leagues.

Vegas beat the 12 seed by 1 goal each game, Colorado just put up 7 on AZ. Colorado is my favorite for sure.

Kane with 4 giveaways, his passing was rough at best tonight....totally unlike him. I wonder if that big hit on him in the first period rattled him...doubt it but maybe.

Crow has shown, he's a better big game goalie then Lehner. I love Lehner and he will get better in big games and breakaways but Crow is still king in my opinion

Would've been our third best forward behind Kane and Toews in playoffs if he just trusted his shot.

Yes, I agree. I love the Avs and fully predict the Avs vs. Vegas and Vegas wins but the Avs IMO will have a harder time getting to the WCF then Vegas. Playoff hockey is big and physical and Vegas is just better at it. Also goaltending and Vegas gets the nod there IMO.
