Would rather have Jake bean also sandin is not a top 4 right now. Personally I would rather he spend one more year in the AHL to play big minutes and but on some weight and muscle. If he has to be in the NHL he should be playing bottom pair and sheltered minutes to not expose him

You are also going to lose Lehtonen next year most likely either he plays well and prices him self out or plays bad and you don’t retain him. You are also likely to lose muzzin to an expansion draft. So you will only have sandin and Reilly on the left

Don’t forget Dermott is still signed here and can sub in for Sandin at any time or even leave Sandin in the AHL and call up Marincin as the 7th defencemen. A left side D of Rielly Sandin and Dermott would still be good.

if kapenan goes to carolina toronto would either want a RHD which carolina has 2 of interest but wont want to give up, or a potential 3rd Line center like geekie who is probs the most realistic as their top 3 centers are locked to 3-5 year contracts.
