Jump on the Laine Train

Created by: IslesTime

Description
Hear me out... Boychuk isnt going anywhere with that contract plus Trotz and Lou loves what he brings and Mayfield is your 2nd pair until Wilde is ready. Dobson is going to make the team this year and would eventually replace Pulock on top pair anyway. Laine is game changer and would score 50 goals next to Barzal. Have to try to make this deal. Plenty of ways to free up $$$ next year to pay Barzal...

Pulock is a very sad and tough loss but I think the value is fair

Pulock is a good starting piece but bellows and a first is not enough. I mean bellows as not live up to the expectations so far. Beauvilier in and holmstrom or whalstrom plus the first

Not happening... Taylor Hall was traded straight up for Larsson and I would say this is pretty comparable. You are getting top pair RD, Bellows although he regressed was asked to focus on a different part of his game and I still think will be a good player and you get a bottom half 1st rounder in deep draft.

Even if you try to convince me its a ****ty trade. Bellows now doesn’t have enough value
Plus taylor hall situation was completely different. They acquired a top prospey defenseman at the time but he never really developed into it. And sorry but chiarelli really mess up that trade there absolutely 0 chance chevy do such stupid trade. I mean pulock was great last season but it was it first real
Good season. So doesn’t have the value of premier dman. If you don’t want laine its fine but if you do want him islanders will have to do better than that

Not enough money goiing back it’s won’t work. The deal would have to include a players who
Make around 5 millions. ( and not a cap dumb so no andrew ladd, no anders lee, justin bailey is good but a little bit to old to interest winnipeg. That doesn’t leave much pieces to work with. Its not just about players it a salary cap issues to. Building a trade is way more than picking random players and try to equal value. Plus clearly winnipeg would want a young nhl forward ( center as possible) a young defenceman, and a high prospect plus a pick this is the starting point.

I’d trade Dobson long before I trade Pulock

Don't you something wrong here. Three million over the cap and next summer Barzel to be signed next year Is Laine that good at 9m? I'm thinking the Jets just might like that trade. Get's fine Dman, cap space for this year and two iffy futures.

Thank goodness none of you on here advocating trading Pulock or Dobson for Laine run the isles... smh. Pulock has become more important to the Isles than Laine would be. He anchored the D last year and became the #1 and could put up 50 pts next year. Dobson, on the other hand, is a Blue Chip prospect who, from all accounts, is excellent on both sides of the puck and can QB a PP. Neither of those players are someone you trade for a one dimensional player like Laine... I don't care if he scores 50 goals a year. Essentially, trading Pulock hurts the team more than getting Laine helps it.
