There's a legit chance he just never comes back. What a gong show.

Honestly, I think there's a 99% chance he's traded out of Edmonton before December. Apparently he has an NHL out clause so this seems like he's just proving he absolutely won't play for the oilers.

Wouldn't mind Ottawa swooping in there on the cheap. Sens are pretty good at developing, and if he turns out he'd be a great fit with a guy like Tkachuk.

I have no doubt that if he ends up anywhere else, he'll instantly be a stud. Ottawas probably one of the more likely destinations for him

I don't think Ottawa would be the best of landing spots for him, one of the big things about Edmonton that didnt work for them is his lack of English skills. He needs to go somewhere where he has fellow country men to help him adjust, could see him asking more to go to a team that has a couple players he knows or at least idolized in Finland, it's the reason MTL went and got Armia for Kotkaniemi

I agree with most of your post but....MTL got Armia because he's a big body with great puck possession skills who can play, drafted 16th overall in 2011. They got Armia for helping Winnipeg out of a cap situation and took on Mason's bad contract. It was a 5.2 million cap hit for the Habs so they had to get something more than just picks back. They already had a Finn in Lehkonen and KK can speak English.

They were well aware though that Armia was Kotkaniemis hero watching him play the last few years, they learned it during the draft interview and then on July 1st went out and got him when the opportunity arose. I think it was one of those works best for both teams.
