Description
So Arizona wants 1st so if they do Domi, Strome, McInnis, and 1st this year for Kapanen and 1st overall seems like a good starting point. Also, NJ wants van Reimsdyk if so their 1st this year will do. The Bozak trade gets value and stocks the draft shelf this year in up comming Drafts.

Hmm what about Domi, Strome and Dvorak going to Toronto in exchange for the first overall pick + prospect (Kapanen/Brown)?

Possible but my thinking is there is a good chance one of the top 3 dman in this draft still should be on the board at 7th or we can then trade 7th and 30th to edmonton for 4th and have our pick of them. we can then have our top line locked up and deepen our D prospect pool.

Toronto would have to retain some salary to make that trade work. In the Jackets trade

Well that trade was an example of what they should look for a vet center with leadership a 2nd between 2017-19 and a 3rd this year.

I would disagree. Bozaks cap hit of 4.5 mil as a second line center on your roster is a fair price.

I don't know that New Jersey lets the 11th pick go for Van Riemsdyk only for the fact that JVR isn't going to put New Jersey back on the map. They need more then just one player right now. Giving up a future for a player who isn't going to put you in the playoffs seems like a bad move. That Arizona trade is interesting. I feel they might want a little extra. They are moving up to get Mathews, but they are also letting go of two guys who aren't too far off what a Mathews brings.

The price of doing business. I know they have said they are willing to give up Domi or Davorak and 2 1st picks but I think they will need to give up Strome to close the deal. Kapanen gives them a 2nd line wing with just giving up McInnis who looks like a 3rd line forward who will give us someone to compete with Gauthier for role and make both better. The NJ trade is a rumour I heard.

The NJ trade is not very close at all. Wrong team, wrong value, wrong timing. JVR only 2 years left. Not worth 11 OA for a team that does not plan to win tomorrow.

JVR's value is pretty low right now. Later 1st and a B prospect.
