Clearing dead cap space. Question is...... is anything possible or are the Nucks stuck? Not even sure it's done lol

Trades
1.
VAN
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
For the Nucks, a cap dump. Cheaper and comparable options for one, one less NTC to protect in the Seattle expansion.

For the Islanders, more a small scale insurance policy on a number of their pendong UFAs. Sutter is a solid enough 3rd line centre, but the deal is horrible for what he really does, hence retained money.
NYI
  1. Sutter, Brandon ($2,000,000 retained)
2.
PHI
  1. Goldobin, Nikolay [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Let's end the Goldobin debate. He has potential yes. Not realizing it in Vancouver. And..... the Nucks have better options on the wing.

So move him and help Philly out. Nucks have the cap room for McDonald. He is on an expiring deal (even better, as you might be able to flip him at the deadline). He can certainly still play bottom 6 minutes. The real caveat is Frost. That's the price for a cheap 3rd liner and eating $5 million in cap.

Bottom line, if you are debating Goldie's value, move him for future potential.
3.
VAN
  1. 2020 6th round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Future considerations
OTT
  1. Eriksson, Loui ($3,000,000 retained)
  2. Granlund, Markus [RFA Rights]
  3. 2020 3rd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Melnyk maybe cheap, but he still has to make basement. Sens are young, but still thin so adding Eriksson isn't a horrible move, especially in retaining salary. Granlund here is a key pick up - a servicable 3rd liner who is young enough to fit into the Sens long term plans. Hell, even moving the Sens up 3 rounds to help with a rebuild.

For the Nucks, Granlund is replaces by Schaller easily and they get out of the Eriksson contract. It's costly. But long term needs to be done.

Teams NEVER reach the basement by taking on long term contracts that actually cost real money. Sorry Ericsson and his NTC stays a Canuck, though with retention it wouldn't be bad trade for the Sens as you show. No way the Flyers trade Frost....especially for THAT. Flyers have cap and will keep MacDonald. Seattle expansion, NTCs don't have to be protected. NMCs have to be protected unless the player waives that right for the draft.

i could see a team like Ottawa taking that deal although a higher pick would be requested. Granlund has potential just hasn't been given much of an opportunity. Flyers say no cause Frost is really good. I like the Dzingel signing. he would work great on that top line

1. If not Frost, then whom do you suggest

2. What kind of pick are we talking for Ottawa?
