Phaneuf's NTC (or close to it) makes him untradable. But remember the reason the Kings acquired him for to get rid of the equal bad Gaborik contract. So the initial problem the Kings made was signing an 30 plus player to a long term contract after he one good playoff run. and the was Gaborik.

But Gaborik can ride the LTIR. That’s the difference. I bet kings are dying for a trade back right now haha

I’m shocked kings made that deal. Gaborik had nagging health issues it was kinda almost assumed that he would finish his contract on LTIR
