But with the depth of Nashville's D, they can trade away someone like Fabbro and add a strong forward for the years to come...

Interesting deal.... Fabbro has potential and we have no idea how Virtanen shapes up to be... currently the Canucks have a plethora of forwards and a lot more coming up the pipes

Nashville may believe that Fabbro won’t sign. Stacked defence already and there’s always a risk that a prospect doesn’t measure up.

I agree that they need defensive prospects. Might open the door for McEwen

Oh sure but I think that with current resume of Fabbro's he can fetch higher value. If thats the price Leafs should definitely take a look. Brown is similar to Virtanen valuewise to be completely honest

I guess the same could have been said of Virtanen before he entered the league.

And I believe Brown has NHL resume to back up his value as well as junior resume.

Not sure how Brown factors in here. He makes $850K more per year and more importantly, he's 3 years older.

I was just saying that Virtanen and Brown have similar value so if Virtanen is price for Fabbros rights, Leafs should look into getting Fabbro as well.

I’m not sure that they do. Virtanen is bigger, younger and cheaper at the very least. Virtanen also hasn’t hit his ceiling yet.

Would be nice to have BC pairing with Rielly and Fabbro (Fabbro is defensively good Dman). And neither did Brown hit his ceiling. He is played in defensive role as he shouldnt be. He is good in it but he has very high scoring potential as well as defensive game (I feel that Edmonton should trade for him). Virtanen might be bigger but he isnt more physical. Virtanen has possibly higher potential if given good role but Brown is more established and more responsible winger. Thats why I think their value is similar. Although as you said in first sentence, I dont see Leafs going for Fabbro either. Just saying it would be nice

Leafs fans often over value their players ?

I think the Canucks fans deserve a Fabbro a little more than the Leafs fans.

I agree that Canucks fans deserve Fabbro a little more than Leafs fans, tho I dont agree I over valued Brown. I think if Nashville does not sign Fabbro, they can at very least get a middle-6 forward with scoring potential and strong defensive game.

I’ll take the win with the agreement on Fabbro. I’ll leave the Brown vs Virtanen debate right here though

Same here. We can debate all day long. Fact is, right now Fabbro is not being shopped and likely signs imo.
