its a fair trade if you make the pick protected , take out the cap retention on both sides

as long as its a protected pick EDM doesnt likely care as much as their picks outside the top 3 the past 20 years they've had inconsistent success with players taken in the #4-15 spots .

Let's be straight over here. At this point everyone in EDM would prefer Tatar at 4.8 mill than Lucic at 6. Is EDM overpaying? Maybe, maybe not. You're saying the draft pick is gonna be high. With Tatar replacing Lucic, it's logical to assume there's a good chance they finish higher in the standings, therefore the pick being possibly lower than you're stating.
