        In order for the Hawks to have a Cap Benefit...they need to trade away cap space. You don't get cap benefit by trading away picks that probably don't make the roster. You may have meant to insert Bickell as he's really the only player the Hawks need to lose for CAP reasons.

        Yes, by buying out Cowen you save cap room for next year.
