Description
My idea for the leafs is to sign Stamkos to a 1 year max contract and assess his value to the team then sign him to an 8 year contract the following season at an appropriate cap hit if he fits

        Totally obscene paying Stamkos 14m. As you have indicated the Leafs don't even need him at his preferred position, centre. Way to little to send to Ducks for two quality starters.
        No guarantees that Lupul and Robidas are on LTIR all season, so cap space is an issue.

        Lou already came out and said that Lupul and Robidas won't play next year. Anaheim must part with a goalie before the expansion draft and they also can't afford both Vatanen and Lindholm, a 1st, 2nd and Kapanen is enough to get it done without a doubt.

        I would actually pay Stammer $14m on a shorter term deal over $10-11m over 7 years.

        Why would Stamkos do a 1 year deal? even at 14 mil? 3-4 extra mil now but he then risks getting hurt and leaving a lot more money on the table. pretty sure he's going to want a 7 year deal. gotta have the security especially given his recent health problem.
