How about this: because Columbus is getting the best player, and Tampa Bay the second-best, each should give a pick to Edmonton and Columbus should also give a pick to the Lightning. How about Columbus gives a first and second to Edmonton and Tampa Bay, respectively, and Tampa Bay gives a first (not the same year) to Edmonton? Is that too high a return (two firsts, a second, and Tyler Johnson and Cal Foote) for the guy who may be the next Mark Messier? Look at it another way: wouldn't Columbus trade, straight up with Edmonton, Panarin and a first and a second for Draisaitl?

idk maybe im not as high on cal foote as most people but i dont think he plays in nhl next or on the top 4 - would much rather get johnson stralman (extended) and a 1st rounder/prospect
