Nope. Not gonna fly. Because Panarin is going to sign with the Blues once his contract expires, and you can't trade Draisatl because then the Blues can't deal Parayko for him.

I dunno. I think the basic outline is pretty ingenious. I think it might require a little evening out with draft picks. How about this: because Columbus is getting the best player, and Tampa Bay the second-best, each should give a pick to Edmonton and Columbus should also give a pick to the Lightning. How about Columbus gives a first and second to Edmonton and Tampa Bay, respectively, and Tampa Bay gives a first (not the same year) to Edmonton? Is that too high a return (two firsts, a second, and Tyler Johnson and Cal Foote) for the guy who may be the next Mark Messier? Look at it another way: wouldn't Columbus trade, straight up with Edmonton, Panarin and a first and a second for Draisaitl?

idk maybe im not as high on cal foote as most people but i dont think he plays in nhl next or on the top 4 - would much rather get johnson stralman (extended) and a 1st rounder/prospect

I don’t see why we trade away Panarin, the Calder trophie winner in 2016, for Tyler Johnson and other old scraps?

Two first-round picks, a second-round pick, and Tyler Johnson and Cal Foote is an insufficient return?? That almost certainly results in four quality players somehow.

Not bad but personally if I’m Columbus I’d cut out the middle man and take Johnson and Foot. Sorry.
