    Why do people keep trading players subjected to LTIR? There cap hit doesn't impact salary cap, they get paid out, but their contract doesn't impact anything.

    Need to his entire contract to not count. Not just a bit.

    Like hell, You're still one player short and $807,000 over the cap. And you're at least one million shy on both Tavares and Karlssons contracts.

    What isn't possible is these sign and trades. Leafs could sign Karlsson and then trade Nylander for cap reasons to any team. Karlsson may not be worth an eight year contract now.
