Love that Islanders trade, probably a huge overpayment by the Blues, but we get a pick, Berglund can slide into 3C and we can trade Nelson D help.

I don't see the appeal of trading for both Draisaitl and O'Reilly. They're both great players but Schenn is a top 1B/2 center and someone would probably end up playing wing. I do like the team though.

Thanks. The idea is quality depth at every forward position. I'd say the D is a bit weak, but Bouwmeester and Gunnarsson won't be on IR forever. Their return would force an additional move or two. It's also likely that one or more additional rookies will force their way on the roster well before the deadline, also. Goaltending is a big question mark, but there aren't any easy fixes this off season. All things considered, I think this lineup would be a competitor.
If Tavares somehow came to the Blues, the RoR deal doesn't happen--but the others would still be do-able, if the team could unload Steen. Adding Tavares is the only scenario where I would look to do that.
Also, while Fabbri is on the roster, I am not personally counting on him contributing much of anything. I hope he proves me wrong.

I agree that the defense has room for improvement (note my comments above). But I don't think you can really sort that out until (a) one or both of Bouwmeester and Gunnarsson return from IR, and (b) Mikkola and Reinke (and maybe Sergeev, or others) show us what they've got.

I think pairing a mobile but tough crease clearing bruiser like Mayfield with Dunn will open up Dunn's game and make him much more effective.

You right, but im pretty sure one of those two will not be on injured reserve when the season starts.
