Ottawa isn't going to do a sign-n-trade for Ceci.

Hjalmarsson is ufa at the end of the season and likely doesn't resign. By the end of last season he was Arizona's 5th most used defenceman. I think they'd be willing to give him up in exchange for moving up one spot and getting a decent prospect (picked 40th overall in 2014) back.

It doesn't have to be a sign and trade since he's a RFA. I just signed him first so it was easier to include him in the trade.

yea i was just thinking why sign-n-trade a RFA? it was sort of confusing

Its basically 3 first rounders for O'Reilly. Some might consider it an overpayment, but I think thats what it'll take.

Actually, I was talking with my son last night and came to the conclusion that O'Reilly will not be traded until, JT, Stastny, Bozak, and others are signed. I think this is a great offer and Ottawa may be able to toss in Bobby Ryan in this deal with a bout $2,000,000 retention

1. Gabo will probably be on LTIR next year. So no buyout
2. Burrows in BV please
3. ROR is good, but I’d go after Tavares!!
4. Try to keep our good young guys (White as a C and Brown as as big LW).
5. Draft a quality D w/our 4th we’re so thin on D. Hughes could be good.
6. I expect Ceci to go to arbitration. 1y 3.75M.

Thats Arizona trade is pretty bad. Also this team isnt close to being a playoff team. Maybe in the AHL
