By the time he's up for his second contract both Bogo and Pominville will be gone - there's $11M in free money

Don’t forget about paying the other 20 players though. 7.7 for Trouba is too much... why not offer the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and a prospect in a trade... 2 million in cap space over 7 years is worth a prospect. Plus, the Jets maybe ok next year for Cap space but look at the year after that Trouba can be had. He did once say he wanted out of Winnipeg who says he even wants to resign. Crazy offer

McCabe isn’t even close for Grubauer

That isn't the compensation...It's for four first rounders probably. (depending on this year's figures. Average cap hit for for compensation is almost 10m.

$5,888,961 to $7,851,948 First-, second-, and third-round pick

Under 7.8M it's only a 1 2 and 3. Worth it with him holding out before and Laine's big extension coming up.

total salary divided by 5 (now your making me do the math i didn't want to do) 7.7 x 7 = 53.9 mill divided by 5 = 10.78 mill, which means that's 4 1st rounders going to WPG

A Risto for Trouba swap makes a ton of sense for both teams

How? That leaves Buffalo in the same situation they were before the trade, except theyd need to spend more on Trouba

I made it in another post. Dahlin gets his 2nd contract a year before Risto is UFA. Maybe locking in Trouba at a higher rate right now long term helps the Sabres.

That makes sense, 8 years at maybe 6.5 to 7.5 mill sounds pretty decent too. But i doubt the Sabres will have to really worry too much unless the NHL takes a market hit and the cap regresses
