Veleno is not likely an NHL player next year. And giving up Zadina for him would be a trade we lose on day 1 and year 6.

If MTL does get Veleno then they have Ho-Sang as a bonus.

I really like Veleno and i hope we draft him but no way we would trade down for him. I think we'll give current players and maybe some of our second to get him.
But if we do draft Zadina, some of our LW must go.
I wouldn't be against the idea of dropping down to like #5 and pick Boqvist while still getting a good young player from Arizona.

If we don't get Veleno there are still good players available ( Hayton, Kotkaniemi.....). We would still have Ho-Sang who plays C/RW

No guarantee that Zadina will be a game changer.

Ho-Sang is not a bonus... 3 down to 11, is huge value whether we get "our guy" or not. Veleno isn't even the number 1 center in the draft. Bottom line, Zadina is far better than Veleno, and Bergevin probably doesn't go after a kid with attitude issues that hasn't proven **** yet. (whether that reputation is merited or not, it exists)

Theres no guarantee about Veleno or Hayton or Kotkaniemi either... All three could bust, and Ho-Sang might end up being just a moody kid giving us headaches.... I'll take my chances on the kid that looks like a game changer on day 1.

Bruh you are all lost....even if he turns out to be a huge bust nobody knows it at this point so you can't just waste the value of the pick like that...cmon man.

I haven't heard anything about Veleno having a bad attitude. Ducharme will be able to give Bergie a good assessment on Veleno since he played for him in Drummondville.

    Ho-sang has attitude issues... apparently...

Its a bad value trade. One that could look as bad as Subban for Weber or Sergachev for Drouin.

For MTL to have a #1 eventual center (from MTL) would be awesome!

It would be.... I have seen few people that consider Ho-Sang or Veleno a #1 center in the future... Kotkaniemi is the only center that I see getting that type of projection. And even if he is your target, he is likely going top 10, and this would still be a bad trade.

Kotkaniemi? Hayton, Lundestrom, and Veleno are the best centers in the draft, even though they are all future second line centers.

Can't argue that, as I haven't watched enough of any of them myself. There has been a late push on Kotkaniemi and I believe he is now in TSN's top 10. But even if that's not the case, you agree with me that none of them are worth this trade down (as is, as there may be better deals, but Ho-Sang doesn't get it done alone).

I agree with you on that we should not make the trade down.
