I haven't seen any report that Thornton is done. Slim pickins right now for experienced centres.

MTL/NYI trade at the draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RobbStark03</b></div><div>Ho-sang has attitude issues... apparently...
Its a bad value trade. One that could look as bad as Subban for Weber or Sergachev for Drouin.</div></div>
For MTL to have a #1 eventual center (from MTL) would be awesome!

Veleno isn't even the number 1 center in the draft. Bottom line, Zadina is far better than Veleno, and Bergevin probably doesn't go after a kid with attitude issues that hasn't proven **** yet. (whether that reputation is merited or not, it exists)</div></div>
I haven't heard anything about Veleno having a bad attitude. Ducharme will be able to give Bergie a good assessment on Veleno since he played for him in Drummondville.

If we don't get Veleno there are still good players available ( Hayton, Kotkaniemi.....). We would still have Ho-Sang who plays C/RW

I've had enough!!!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMTD</b></div><div>While I agree Galchenyuk is a great young player, O'Reilly is much better and centers usually are more important than wingers. Yes the 2nd is way over the top, I do not know much about Lindgren (I know he is one of MTL top prospects), and he had 3 great games in 2015-2017, then this year he had been very average, regardless I think BUF would pass on getting a GK, IMO they will make Ullmark the #1 GK next year. Throw a different prospect (that you think will be a starter, maybe Noah Juulsen) then I think Botterill would listen. I saw you posted this trade twice, I think if you refine it as many have suggested it could work.</div></div>
Buf needs a left handed sniper which is what Gal brings to the table. He and ROR need a change of scenery. Buf is already strong down the middle with Eichel and Midlestadt. A good back up goalie (Lindgren) could compliment Ullmark. He could develop as a top goalie. MTL and BUF need a change of attitude and these changes might be necessary to address this situation. I wish MTL had a LD to trade but don't.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Price_is_the_goat</b></div><div>look. lets be real. do u really think that mtl would even consider trading their franchise goalie? i mean if u trade him, ur not replacing him, no matter how stacked ur team is. ask carolina, philly, dallas and even the isles how hard it is to find a good goalie. this team needs 2 pieces. and those are attainable. idk if u listened to yesterdays presser or not, but molson truly cares for the team. and it seems like bergy is on a short leash. he has this offseason to improve the team. he has the assets and the opportunity to do so. a pacioretty trade, some ufa signings and a top 5 draft pick would go a long way for this team. im 100% sure that if bergy doesnt fix the team this offseason, and they dont make the playoffs next year, bergys gone. also the owner seems in on bergys plan, and he seems interested in signing tavares. price and weber are two of the biggest reasons why we have a good chance at signing tavares if he hits free agency. just go search up the latest nhl player polls that were conducted this january. look where price and weber rank and what 500 other current nhl players think of them and mtl. you'd be surprised. cheers</div></div>
Mngmt. has to fix Price's attitude or the team will be back where they are now, Pacioretty and Galch. also. This is why I would trade the core.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Price_is_the_goat</b></div><div>dont know why he would leave weber. he didn't like subban apprently. its all doom and gloom in mtl, but ppl forget that we legit only need 2-3 peices to be in contention again. a center and a lhd. defense will be diff next year with juulsen, mete and rielly. add a top lhd to that mix and thats a really good d. we have a ton of good young wingers. just need a top 6 center. ideally 2 centers, but one is good though</div></div>
IMO Price is frustrated and will welcome a trade to a contender with an aging goalie at the helm.

Galchenyuk is a sniper, younger and cheaper for the next 2 yrs. Alzner comes in with a $3,500,000 for the next 4 yrs, is an iron man in games played and great shot blocker. ROR obviously wants out of Buffalo. Would be nice to have a Montreal kid (Scandella) on the team. Lindgren is a nice add in at $750,000 or 3 years.

I agree that a proper salary would be around $11,500,000 to $12,000,000 ($80,500,000 to $84,000,000) over 7 years. Might have to overpay, then again maybe not.
