That's a low price for Rasmus i find. Not sure why you would want to trade him, he seems part of the solution and not the problem in buffalo.

It all depends on how you view him. In my eyes he a 3-4 pp specialist.

Iv been in a few debates on here about Risto and can’t help but think how undervalued he is by Buffalo fans. I think he is a top pairing defenceman but the problem is that most top pairing defenceman don’t actually show they can be until 25+ in age (Risto is 23). Buffalo drafted him and basically ever since then he has been pretty much their only defenceman and because he plays so much he is all the fans see and think he can’t do the job. He is 23 turning 24 and has been playing top minutes for 3 years and still got 40 points or more in 4 straight years.

My simple arguement is that there is no other defenceman that young that can do that. Even Seth Jones spent a couple years learning from Shea Weber and Roman Josi before he is now the main guy in Columbus, think Risto needs that, a good veteran to play top minutes with him and actually teach him.

Bringing in Dumba and expecting him to step in for Risto and him be better would work out disastrously, he has learned from some good defenceman in Minnesota but don’t think he can step into a role where he is the #1 and depended on every night.

I wish there was a “Love” button for this comment. Analytic crowd and fans will attack Risto left and right, but he is still a young man in a elite position for a bad team. We’ve spent the last few seasons trying to build a second pairing behind him (last year was Kulikov disaster, this year they hoped Beaulieu/Bogo could get it done) Now I think that having a young developed player in Nelson and adding a good top-4 guy could do this wonders
