I won't dismiss the possibility, but he'd be behind Niemi (who is actually putting up decent numbers since coming to Montreal). The price would have to be cheap and I'd have to have enough cap space at the time.
A 3rd string goalie will be the last thing I use my cap space on, so I'll get in touch later if im interested.

Even retained Halak would take up the equivalent of 2 reserve spots with his cap hit, so I'm going to exhaust any options in the $1M range first.

I'm pretty much done up front unless a can't pass deal comes along. Pavalec might work if the price is right? I'm only looking at late pick options for now.

He wouldn't be in the minors unless you waived him, at which point I could just claim him anyway if I can free up a roster spot. Even if you managed to send him through waivers to get him to the AHL, his original team could just take him back if we made a trade. That's not taking into account his leg injury.
Too many question marks and little reason to give up anything for him.
