The only acceptable scenario to deal karlsson

Created by: Mittens
Team: 2018-19 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 19, 2018
Published: Jan. 19, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If the Sens get the 1st overall pick. I'm ok with the sens trading karlsson for a package of 1 high end defenseman (so like 2nd tier, the guys who are often not thought about when talking about the elite defenders) and one or two prospects or young players.

In my opinion you could probably get Sam steel in that trade too

Yeah i just worry about like over estimating the return for a player, depends on how much anaheim loves Lindholm too

I think the deal for one year of Karlsson needs to be along the lines of: Sergachev type player (18-20 years old, bit of NHL experience, huge potential) + 1st + top prospect. I just don't think the Ducks are a fit to give up that, given their aging roster, and thin prospect pool, not to mention the fact that Lindholm is their top defenceman (If you're looking for second tier on the Ducks, think Manson), and is signed long term for below market value.

Here's the problem: how are you getting the #1 pick when Colorado owns it? Thank Duchene...

Sorry but LA is not giving a 2nd round pick for a 29 year old with a career high 36 points... I realize that isn't the main point of this AGM, but don't put unrealistic stuff on there just to add cap space and draft picks...

      Overly optimistic returns for Ottawa.
