Description
Jets do the honourable thing and broker a deal to get Hamonic home. They agree to draft chychrun for the isles with their first round pick and throw in Stuart to replace Hamonic's pk minutes. Jets then trade Myers to the Oil for Eberle. I added Yandle to make the defence redonkulous. Doubt the Jets would spend to the cap though.

It looks like I'll have to be the one to tell you, that you'll never have a future as an NHL GM. You are offering an 18 year old prospect for a tough, minute eating defenseman with a very friendly cap hit. I'm sorry dude, but you'll have to go back to the table and re-think this deal and make a much better offer or else the Jets chances of landing him are nil, and the Jets will likely end up playing against him for the next several years as he will be wearing the same color as the Islanders, except he'll be in Edmonton.

Damnit. I had put a lot of eggs into my future as an NHL GM basket.

Even if Edmonton offered up Eberle, like many armchair managers are suggesting, why take on a $6M contract for a RW when that is what it would take to keep Okposo? Hamonic doesn't want to play for the Islanders which would make many real world managers question how his personal life will affect his commitment to their team. By getting Chychrun, they get a top defensive prospect under control for several years at a cost which opens the door to keep Okposo.
