Description
Yes, it is HIGHLY unlikely the Blues could ever move the salaries of Bouwmeester, Steen, Berglund, Sobotka, and Allen in one off-season--and unlikelier still that they would want to. But assuming that were realistic, this is the roster I would try to assemble.

All in??? If that consists of virtually no defense then sure. Edmundson should not play top line D. Get someone less than Draisaitl. Because Edmonton always wants ******** overpay for him.

Edmundson is our second best defender, and it's not even close. Had he not broken his forearm, Blues would have made the playoffs for sure.
I agree those second and third defensive pairings wouldn't put up many points (though I expect Dunn to have a monster year), but the idea is to have a quick defense that is miserable to play against. And with an offense that dynamic, they won't spend much time on defense anyway.
As for Draisatl, Edmonton covets Parayko. The proposed offer might not do it, but it's not an overpay, and it would at least start the conversation.
This team would be a handful for everybody.

Five stars for wanting O'Reilly
IMO if Botterill could flip Allen, J. and Sobotka, V. I think he would make this trade.
Barbashev, I., 2018 1st round pick (WPG) and 2019 2nd round pick (STL) plus the assets from the above could pique his curiosity.
Let's make a deal! cheers

Why would you not have ROR playing C with Schenn on a wing somewhere? The guy is renowned for his two-way play and his faceoffs.
