2 quick thoughts from a Sabres fan:
1. Chad Johnson sis a FA so Buffalo cant trade him.
2. I don't think the Sabres will have any interest in Perry, the Sabres are trying to get younger and faster. They have plenty of bloated contracts from aging players...

Why do the Sabres want Corey Perry? Stanley cup in 2007, leadership, production, not much going back to Anaheim to get him. Why do the Sabres not want Corey Perry? $8,625,000 until 2021. Why would Corry Perry want to come to Buffalo? IDK
I am totally torn on this trade, Buffalo is giving up spare part for a team leader, Stanley Cup Ring, good production. but oh that contract? How about O'Reilly for Perry straight up squinty smile? Just playing around.

Rangers pass easily on this deal. Kesler is and ziba is only 24 with some good numbers on a horrid team's season so with improvements and the team is rebuilding it doesn't make any sense for ziba to be traded for kesler which is a downgrade itself. So unless Ritchie was involved I want 0 part in this.
