Listen i like mike green but he isnt going to improve the blue line enough to help you. Instead of using those assets on domi go gind that dman. If its signing carlsson do it or trading for oel but thats what your missing .

I still think the main way for Toronto to get that #1 right handed D is giving up on of their young 3. Like Nylander for Hanafin or something along those lines. See what plays out though

WELL YOU ASKED. . . . WHY NOT?????
First off: JVR and Bozak will likely be looking for a minimum of 5 years of term, in what very well might be their final shot at a big contract. (JVR - 6 x $6M, Bozak 5 x $5M) so likely not in Leafs snack bracket! I love Komorov, and would like to see him resigned if only to play 4th line minutes and PK, but you are likely looking at a minimum 3 year deal, so he likely moves on! Both Green and Filppula, both had opportunities to come to the Leafs and chose not to, and quite frankly, neither is a player that Leafs should want even short term. Green who has become a 3rd pairing/PP guy, and Filppula a 4th line center that can be (and has to be) filled from within or through free agency for a less than $1M contract!
AZ with all of their problems, might be the last team in the league (Ottawa excepted) that would be in a position to take on uninsured bad money of a player never going to play! You overpay for that and Domi, (who while still having upside) a player coming off a terrible year. No deal would include Leafs first for the above, let alone throwing in a Hyman, whose value is as much his contract as is his ability!
Just a few thoughts on the above. . . .You asked!

Hanafin gets close to 64% of his zone starts in the offensive zone. He is extremely sheltered, wouldn't move Nylander for him.
Leafs do not need to get a number 1 RD if it will cost one of the big 3. They have a young core who will only get better and look to be making the playoffs for the 2nd straight year. Why make a big change? Rather wait to see what liljegren becomes or even take a swing at a UFA like Carlson.

That Domi trade is beyond brutal for the leafs too. Last thing they should trade for is a small winger.
