Description
Personally I keep him and sign him—with an experienced star brought in, he can actually focus on effing scoring and passing instead of fighting, boarding, and anything else to inject energy, since he’s the only one who really could all season consistently. But if it happened, it’s because your bet he’s a 60ish point forward at best and you’re better off with an unproven mid-first rd like Noah Ostlund or another from a team on a run at the trade deadline or who could use some leadership at the start of the season. But again, I’m for the other path. Anyway, 4 dollars a pound.

  1. Östlund, Noah

Other possibilities: Zachary Bolduc (STL), Liam Ohgren (MINN), Matt Coronato (CGY), Axel Sandin Pellinka (DET) idk give or take
BUF
  1. Konecny, Travis
Additional Details:
It doesn’t make sense to me to trade him for late firsts and no team is really going to give up the lock-prospects/early firsts you think he’s worth. Why would they, he’s a rental w a sparse playoff record. Bring in another star, take the pressure off, and tell him to stop launching himself at people and he might play 75 games the next few seasons.

Yeah Ostlund or Kulich from Buffalo will be the ask but u still need to get a 1st round pick to go along with them.

The TK ask should be a top prospect and a 1st. Depending on how early or late the 1st is or what year it is in depends on how good the prospect is.

If you can’t get 2 good pieces for TK you have to re-sign him. You can’t just give him away. Fiala, DeBrincat, etc all good multiple strong pieces and TK has probably been just as good as those guys.

He's also older than they were when they were traded and plays a brand of hockey that doesn't age well

the top 6 wing rental market has always been weaker than people seem to think it will be. Ostlund or similar for Konecny is a great deal for both sides. 11 for Konecny is also a great deal for both sides.

Or.. 1st in 25, one of Buffalo's secondary prospects. (ranked 4-8 via Athletic)

Sam Reinhart, Alex Debrincat, Pavel Buchnevich.. rental RFAs who received varied returns from a late 1st or 2nd and a B prospect or player.. Debrincat got the top 10 1st from Ottawa, but the 2nd and 3rd and some of the 1sts value equate to the other two trades.

Timo Meier got a late 1st, middle 6 forward, top 3rd ranked prospect for a wad of guys.

So a one year UFA? If 11OA is involved, expect a middling prospect from Buffalo, if anything. All these guys above aren't injury prone either.
