Seattle would decline that offer quite quickly. A fifth round pick in 2025 doesn't come close to bridging the value gap between Smith and Bjorkstrand. Given their competitive timeline, the Kraken would be better off just keeping the more productive forward who has an extra year of reasonable term on his deal and is four years younger.
